We currently have one Board position vacancy at the AGM and have received two nominations for the position. The details of the candidates are:

COLIN YE

Colin Ye’s wife, Sarah Kerr, has Limb girdle Muscular Dystrophy. He was first exposed to the neuromuscular condition when he met Robert Kerr when they were 13. This year marks 18 years with Sarah. As Colin is her primary carer and they both work full time, they take on unique challenges that present everyday. They love to travel, spend time with their families and the community.

Colin is driven by the determination from Sarah who continues to push the boundaries of people working full time with a disability. He is an advocate of equity and inclusiveness in the workplace and building the awareness of neuromuscular conditions. He believes his values are strongly aligned to that of Neuromuscular WA and he will be able to provide insight into his own lived experience as a husband, caregiver, support person and friend, while sharing his NDIS knowledge and focusing his energy in delivering the strategic plans every year. He has been an active community member for several years, attending community days, fundraisers, Telethon, YASG and the Dwellingup 100. This is a testament to his ongoing support and dedication to the community. Coupled with his background in finance, he hopes he can play a valuable role as a member on the Board.

ZY PHILLIPS

Zy is the father of Ari Phillips, a member of our community with congenital muscular dystrophy. Zy’s association with Neuromuscular WA goes back to the last 7 years, during which Zy and the Philips family have been actively involved in fundraising and awareness campaigns for our organisation and neuromuscular conditions. Over the years Zy has actively participated in community reference groups and co-design workshops where he worked with Piper Marsh.

Zy is interested in joining the Board to deepen his engagement within the community and contribute to driving Neuromuscular WA forward. Zy is confident his experience in continuous improvement, project management, information technology, digital marketing, sales and account management can be leveraged to support the organisation's growth.

In Zy’s professional career, he has worked with numerous Australian businesses and mining, managing account portfolios and engaging stakeholders from the lowest to up to C level. The Phillips family have experience with NDIS in both managed and unmanaged environments. Zy is excited to be part of this journey and help the organization achieve its goals.
